Pain De Sucre

One of my all-time favourite getaways, Antibes on the Cote d’Azur, is a place that never fails to enchant me. The Sud de France hotspot, with its 16th century ramparts and always immaculately dressed clientele, is perfectly nestled between Cannes and Nice, making it the ideal go-to for me when I need a few days off from the city and kids.

I love the white sandy beaches you can sink your feet into, as oppose to pebble beaches that are more common in that region. In Antibes and its Riviera-side neighbour, Juan-les-Pins, best beaches have private facades with sunbeds, allowing guests to bask undisturbed in the area’s eternally sun-drenched climate. As you’d expect from the French, the local cuisine almost never disappoints too – expect some of the country’s freshest seafood dished up elegantly wherever you go. Do try the freshly made beef tartar or the tuna carpaccio. On my paleo diet it is a perfect combination and also yummy, however at times even I cannot resist a warm bread basket or a pasta dish, as almost everything tastes amazing!

When I have the kids I head to the family-friendly Plage Joseph, but when travelling alone I tend to opt for Mala Plage Cap D’ail if I’m seeking serenity, or the buzzier Plage de Passable if I’m after a bit of excitement.

Piña Colada in hand, I was relaxing there not so long ago, envisioning which luxury yacht I might one day own, when a rather toned, tanned beach body swanned past me in the most eye-catching of swimwear. Intrigued, I caught up to her to ask her where it was from, only to be pointed in the direction of a nearby swimwear store – Pain De Sucre.

The French brand, I soon discovered, has a huge range of styles to suit all body shapes. The retro-inspired design lines paired with thoroughly modern prints, are sure to make you stand out when parading the beach catwalk – as my sun-kissed compadre unequivocally proved.

Grateful to have had my camera at hand I snapped a few shots of her wearing some of my favourite pieces from Pain De Sucre’s latest collection. It’s just too bad the body’s not included!

I promised to send her the pics and text, so here it is! Karine is wearing a Toscana sunhat, Pain de Sucre beachwear and Karin Ravelli accessories.
