Designer Suites

It’s no secret that fashion and travel is a match made in style heaven, and these days the design world’s crème de la crème are putting their branding on far more than just clothes. Fashion-forward and by all means fabulous hotel suites await discernible travellers across the globe.

DVF fans in London should make a beeline for the Claridge Hotel, where the Belgian designer has created an unforgettable space that includes signature prints, a leather topped private bar and lashings of luxe marble.

The suite has been hailed “The Grand Piano Suite” thanks to the inclusion of this impressive instrument, at the command of Diane. Or make a beeline for the May Fair Hotel if you wish to be tickled pink.

The striking Schiaparelli Suite was inspired by the Italian fashion queen who first unleashed fuchsia into a seemingly dreary-hued fashion world. Adorned with pink pony skin and leather, the retro room includes a padded fuchsia chaise, an open fireplace and a freestanding egg bath. Situated in one of Berlin’s most exclusive suburbs, the Lagerfeld designed Schloss hotel im Grunewald is a 54-room property that originally served as a palace. Restored under the German designer’s direction, it retains its royal atmosphere through its countless antiquities, opulent linens and all-marble bathrooms.

Unsurprisingly Paris has no shortage of fashionable hotels too. The Coco Chanel Suite at The Ritz Paris is a prime slumber spot for anyone who reveres the iconic brand.

In the 1930s Mademoiselle Chanel began calling the hotel her home, and with her she brought just a few items of furniture: her beige suede settee with its quilted cushioning and her lacquered folding screen. Fast forward a few decades and art historians, interior specialists and designers including Karl Lagerfeld have combined fashionable forces to flawlessly recreate the room she lived in. Also in the fashion capital, Hotel La Maison Champs Elysées is characterised by minimal forms, a muted colour palette and an acute attention to detail – just like its interior designer, Martin Margiela.

The 17 unique couture rooms were birthed entirely from the fashion guru’s imagination, revealing an audacious combination of avant-garde and elegance. Across the pond you can find Vivienne Westwood at The London West Hollywood. This A-list hotspot has recently revealed its new penthouse, inspired entirely by the UK’s most beloved redhead. There are splashes of Ms Westwood everywhere in this monumental suite, from the specially curated rugs featuring the designer’s iconic squiggle print, to the wall hangings inspired by her past collections. Guests are also treated to a private shopping experience at the Vivienne Westwood store.

Whether you’re young or just young at heart, it’s hard not to be charmed by the Eloise Suite at the Plaza New York. Inspired by the hotel’s most famous fictional resident, the suite was designed in its entirety by OTT fashionista, Betsey Johnson.

She’s known for her riotously bold and colourful designs so it’s no surprise the suite is decked out in hot pink and zebra-print, with bright floral linens and a neon sign above the bed. If you adore Dior, then check into the St Regis.

Overlooking Central Park, their House of Dior suite pays homage to the brand’s Montaigne headquarters in Paris, meaning die-hard Dior devotees will recognise the subtle nudes and grays as well as the bow details at its entrance. And these are just a few of the inspired accommodations on offer. Armani, Versace, Ferragamo, Bulgari and many more iconic brands have put their names on high-end hotels just waiting to be explored by the world’s most immaculately dressed travellers.
