Shevanne Helmer, alongside her daughters Michelle and Danielle, saw a gap in the market after a life-changing trip to Bali. Astounded by the island’s stunning backdrop of natural flora and fauna, and enchanted by its people’s rich cultural traditions, the Helmers began creating a handbag collection that could harness these inspirations and appeal to the modern jetset woman.
Shevanne comes from a fashion and PR background, Danielle studied fashion at Parsons School of Design and Michelle cut her teeth in business and law before the close-knit family decided to join forces. Their multi-cultural heritage that spans Norway, Jamaica, America and France lays a strong foundation for the international accessories brand.
Their collections are all crafted in Bali using local, family-run artisans who have been producing handbags for generations. As well as promoting and helping grow these local businesses, Helmer ensures all snakeskin products are CITES certified (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) which does not threaten the animal’s survival or existence.
