Raphia Chocolate: Morocco, but bite-sized

We’re all well acquainted with the major players in the cacao game, but what if you’re after something a little different? Raphia Chocolate is a luxuriously decadent brand crafting the finest chocolates and treats – all entirely inspired by the sights, smells and tastes of Morocco. A true celebration of the country’s rich heritage, its makers have traversed the landscape in search of the most refined Moroccan delicacies. They’ve created an extra special V-day collection this year, with its pinnacle being the “21 reasons I love you” box featuring an assortment of milk and dark pralines beneath 21 perfectly packaged fresh red roses.

Amouage: The aroma of Arabian nights

This ultra-luxe, ultra-niche scent from Oman is intoxicatingly potent in all the right ways. Originally established in 1983 by the Sultan of Oman himself, it has since become synonymous with opening up Arabian fragrance to the world. For Him and Her, Amouage now boasts 86 different perfumes that take inspiration from the heady scents of the region. Spices, oud, rose, rich fruits and incense are perfectly concocted inside dainty bottles that mimic the bold colours and opulent structures of the Middle East.

Glove.me: Where contemporary Russian style meets tradition Italian crafstmanship

Glove.me is a Russian brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Launched in 2018, the quirky little label embroiders tattoo-inspired designs onto soft, sheer mesh, for an accessory that will instantly turn an everyday outfit into a statement. Their team of illustrators uses old-school and modern tattoo aesthetics as well as cutesy, ironic and even political slogans for maximum impact. They’ve since expanded their output to include more sturdy leather glove options, as well as stockings.

L’Oscar restaurant: Bringing European flair to Hoxton

Does anything say “I love you” better than food? We think not. There are of course hundreds of dining options that offer romance as well as top noshing, but our current favourite eatery is the immaculately elegant and opulent L’oscar, tucked away in the Holborn hotel of the same name. With its illuminated onyx bar, mirrored ceilings and gilded panelling, the aesthetics are inspired by Venice’s oldest café, while the food itself takes its cue from Parisian café culture. L’oscar’s sumptuous Valentine’s set menu is made for two, with everything meant for sharing. Indulge in a selection of seafood for starters followed by a French classic, Cote du Boeuf with béarnaise.
