AZ Factory

Lanvin’s former leading man, Alber Elbaz, has made a long-awaited return to fashion in the form of AZ Factory: a line created to reinvent the basics in a decidedly original way. Keeping in check with current demands, the aim is to simplify wardrobes around the world by designing “beautiful, practical and solution-driven” pieces that can be styled together.

Indeed, innovation plays a pivotal role. The MyBody range, for example, features engineered knitwear that shapes the silhouette and even provides postural support through its use of AnatoKnit technology. Its sportier sister range, MyBody 2.0, will drop in late February, and will champion colour-block designs paired with matching leggings, for 2021’s slick update on athleisure.

The “digital-first luxury brand” also includes workwear, loungewear (in all-inclusive sizing) and a whole host of collectible accessories like silk scarves and statement jewellery, all of which seem positively pared back when compared to the fantasy-filled high-drama of Elbaz’s previous outings.

Despite each item’s evident functionality, however, nothing in this pioneering collection feels mundane. “Our products are here to solve problems and create joy,” a statement reads. And that they do.
