Tremezzo

Awash with incomparable Italian design and overlooking the country’s most iconic lake, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo has over a century of rich history.

An Art Nouveau landmark, visitors can expect to be greeted with unparalleled vistas of Lake Como, Villa Carlotta’s famed gardens and the stunning Grigne mountains. Reopened in March for the Spring season with a host of new activities on offer, the lavish facilities have gone from 5-star to off the darn scale!

Lucky guests who wish to make it the trip of a lifetime will be able to enjoy exclusive three-night stays in the recently revamped Villa Sola Cabiati – a stunning Baroque masterpiece that comes complete with its own staff.

Expect 24-hour butler service, as well as a personal chef at your disposal, ready to devise a personalised culinary journey for each day of your stay.

As well as exclusive access to its spacious outdoor pool, Sola Cabiati comes with its own dock for private boating excursions across the shimmering waters.

Also new to 2018 is Tremezzo’s innovative approach to the common picnic. No more beaten-up baskets rattling with squashed sarnies and luke-warm prosecco – this year it’s all about the “chic-nic.”

If you fancy your afternoon tea with a twist in the form of sunrays and a cool breeze, then indulge in one of their wicker hampers stuffed with a bespoke selection of Italian treats that can be tailored to every guest’s picky palate. Further more, you can choose to scoff and quaff your selection at a variety of beautiful locations: a secluded spot in the hotel’s park, floating aboard a water limousine or even atop a lakeside mountain peak.

Dinners can be enjoyed at one of the hotel’s five sophisticated restaurants and bars that include the recently spruced up L’Escale which serves exquisite yet casual Italian cuisine.

They specialise in the freshest catch of the day, as well as traditional fondues and expertise wine pairings. Indeed the eatery’s romantic setting is suitably ornamented with its more than 1300 bottles of vino, giving it the atmosphere of an ancient wine cellar.

Outdoor enthusiasts can also make a dash for one of the many running and cycling trails that surround the lodgings, or if you’re searching for serenity, a yoga class in Tremezzo’s pool that floats atop the lake will have you blissed out in no time.

Just one measly hour from Milan airport, this gem in Bellagio has got to be one of the most heavenly ways to spend a long weekend away.
