THE LONDON FASHION WEEK MAKEUP TRENDS YOU CAN PULL OFF AT HOME

Late-night lipstick
One of the easiest to create yourself, the just-snogged look ruled the catwalk at LFW, with models made up to seem like they’d just enjoyed a passionate smooch. Leave that lipliner at home to create the style championed at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.  Models at Roland Mouret showed off a slightly more wearable version of the trend with soft pink shades smudged onto the mouth with fingers.

Ultra clumped lashes

A continuation of the trend towards late-night, carefree beauty, super clumpy eyelashes accentuate the eyes in the most rock’n’roll way. Topshop Unique continued the post-party makeup theme with models sporting smudged lips, dewy skin and bold, black mascara, while MSGM took it to the next level with ultra-clumped upper and lower lashes paired with a bright red lip.

Pastel painted eyes
The catwalks have been awash with Easter egg hues for the last few seasons so it’s hardly surprising the trend has extended into the beauty world. Pastel shades can be applied generously onto and around eyelids for an immediate pop of eye-catching colour as seen at House of Holland and Ryan Lo, or layered in stripes as seen at Emilio de la Morena.

Orange is the new blusher
Ditch the pink! This season the greatest MUAs are smudging a sunny shade of orange onto cheeks to create a youthful, fresh-faced glow. Though it might sound like one step towards channelling jaundice, the hue is surprisingly suitable for many different skin tones. Models at Mimi Wade sported MAC’s ‘Genuine Orange’ lipstick blended with a subtle powder blush.
