Solace London

Here at S&S we’ve been following the ever-so-sleek, effortlessly cool and all-round good-value voyage of Solace London for a few years now. Founded in 2013 by long-term pals and clothing collaborators, Laura Taylor and Ryan Holliday-Stevens, the British brand has quickly become known amongst the well-heeled as a label that offers A-list elegance at a rather un-A-list price. Kendall Jenner, Lily Collins and Anne Hathaway are just a few of the stars who’ve graced the red carpet in a Solace frock.

The duo describe their brand aesthetic as “based around timeless modernity and futurism with fabrication and technique driving design.” What sets them apart however, is the price. The ingenious use of inexpensive fabrics means the label excels in contemporary cuts and fashion-forward designs, but without the hefty price tag – pieces start at at just £85, while knockout cocktail gowns rarely topple the £1000 mark.

Revealed this month, Solace’s S/S 2018 Resort Collection perfectly blurs the line between statement making and wearability. Expect to see vinyl wide-legs with matching coats, asymmetric evening dresses, bold colour-blocking and futuristic prints.

With fabrication and technique driving the process, the result is a distinctly graphic collection defined by precision cuts, craftsmanship and their signature look of high-end design.

Solace London is now available in over 100 of the world’s leading retail outlets, including Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman, Opening Ceremony Japan and Moda Operandi. Not bad for a brand that’s only just celebrated its fourth birthday!
