From playfully bejewelled fauna to a melodramatically modern take on pearls, here’s how to shop the year’s biggest jewellery trends this Christmas.

Dramatic flora and fauna
Tap into your whimsical side with this season’s trend towards exaggerated wildlife. Adorably charming animal motifs were seen across A/W catwalks, from dangling owl earrings at Mercedes Salazar to dainty golden bumblebees at Yvonne Leon, while oversized plant life reigned supreme at Oscar De La Renta and L’autre Chose.
Upcycled
This year, everyday objects were reimagined as fabulous pieces of wearable art by everyone from Loewe to Balenciaga. Prada’s Edward Robot keychain makes for an adorable stocking filler…
Or pick your favourite colourway of Aurelie Bidermann’s 18kt gold and cotton Copacabana bracelets.
Monogrammed
Balmain, Moschino, Céline, Chanel and Dior are just some of the brands that championed the trend towards lettering this season. Whether it’s Balenciaga’s BB initialled earrings, the golden monograms of Céline, or the classic personalised letter necklace, it’s an easy trend for anyone to wear.
Neo pearls
2017 saw pearls break free from their classical image to be reborn with a contemporary twist. Bigger, bolder and brighter than ever before, Gucci, Mulberry and Chanel all championed the undersea charm.
One of my personal favourites is Delfina Delettrez, who is known for her modern and futuristic jewellery designs.
Beautiful bouquets
The catwalks have been awash with floral patterns for the past few seasons, and it’s safe to say that bright and beautiful bouquets are sticking around. Choose from Oscar De La Renta’s embellished flowers, Dolce & Gabbana’s rose and gold necklace or for something a little more boho, Etro’s beaded daffodil earrings.
