She’s built her eponymous luxury handbag label around the concept of “Haute Cute,” proving that impeccable craftsmanship and whimsical cuteness can indeed go hand-in-hand.

The London-based designer says she’s wanted to work in luxury fashion since the spritely age of 8 after witnessing John Galliano’s first Dior collection. She was so moved by the show that she decided she was going to become a designer right there and then.
True to her childhood vow, Ming went on to cut her teeth at major players like Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo, learning everything she could about luxury craftsmanship and age-old manufacturing techniques. Eventually, however, she found the strict barriers around designing for someone else were stifling her creativity. She also realised she still had an unwavering curiosity with all things cute, just as she did as an 8-year old.
Ming Ray’s designs are unmistakeable. Expect ladylike purses, clutches and box-bags in a host of collectable colours and materials like dyed mink, crocodile and snakeskin. Often seen slung over the wrists of influencers and A-listers, all of her bags are adorned with intricate jewelled motifs such as 24k gold stars and Swarovski crystal butterflies. Ming Ray has struck the perfect balance between elegance and lighthearted innocence – and we want one of everything!
