Celebrity beauty branding blows up: Kate, Rihanna, Huda and Kylie

Kate Moss has just announced the release of her own, everything-you-need makeup palette in conjunction with Japanese cosmetics experts Decorté, and unsurprisingly beauty addicts are already halfway out the door. The slick and stylish kit contains everything you need for that supermodel glow, or so we’d like to think. Inside a sleek, black pouch (trés Kate), there are six powder shadows that range from neutral to “moss green” – well played.

There’s also four matte lippies in the style icon’s trademark hues, as well as lip and brow pencils, liquid eyeliner and applicator brushes. It’s probably time to call your friends Stateside however, as sadly for us, the palette will be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and is currently unavailable to ship to the UK. Humbug!

If you’re itching to get your manicured mitts on an A-listers makeup bag then you needn’t worry too much though, as there’s plenty more to look forward to this year. Rihanna’s soon-to-be-released line, Fenty Beauty will drop globally on September 8th. The launch date falls conveniently during NY Fashion Week, when the Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection will also be making waves. We can expect to see the singer’s penchant for high-impact, modern beauty with a touch of the avant-garde.

Other than a brief sighting of a holographic lipstick backstage at her Fenty x Puma SS16 show, RiRi’s remained uncharacteristically shtum on the topic, making us that much more impatient for the big reveal next month.

Furthermore, beauty mogul Huda Kattan has revealed the contents of her forthcoming palette, set to drop September 18th. The Dubai-based beauty aficionado has taken her inspiration from the colours and landscape around her. With 21 million followers, Instagram scheduling site, Hopper, has just named the makeup mogul the wealthiest influencer on Instagram so we have no doubt the Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette will be out of stock faster than you can say “paint me.”

Finally, it was announced last week that Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics has made a cool US$420 million in retail sales, putting it on track to be a billion dollar brand by 2022. To put this in perspective, other major industry players like Tom Ford Beauty reached US$500 million in revenue after a decade, while Bobbi Brown reached the billion-dollar mark after 25 years. The nineteen-year-old launched Kylie Cosmetics last year.
